Off to Tahoe

We're off to Homewood in Lake Tahoe! A bit nervous since none of us has really ever drived in snow. Or better, snowstorm, as they say it will be this weekend. We've got our chains in the trunk. Which we dont really know how to put on. And we've got a blanket in the car. If you havn't heard anything from me on Monday- we're dead :-)
Have a great weekend! Kissies::: Sweedie

Weekend in photographs

Our young but very tall Alex with the same last name as me, had her 21st birthday this saturday.
Yes. Some people are still turning 21. Everybody turns 21. Every year. Exept me. I just turn older and older.
Nice italian restaurant and ate way too much food, then we hit Le Colonial. The placed i used to hang out when i was AuPair. Yep. Times are not changing

Cake-blowin'

i look naked, but assure you, i'm not.

Johanna and Johanna. Isnt the world small?

This is how people look after they walked to the car in the rain.
I think Fluffyboy looks very hot when he is wet.
Very...hot...indeed.

Stinky bus.

Its just another lifestyle there.

Thats me. Somewhere in there. Yesterday. Except they were all asian.
Well, at least thats how i felt.

I was sitting on Bus 30 on my way to french class, with the smell of fart and school chirden sweat. Disgusting in other words.

And now, i have to put antibiotic drops in my eyes. Which is like, the worst thing i know!
Yesterday David were trying for 30 mins before he put the drops in there. He was so annoyed. And i kept telling him that that made it even worse. But everytime he came close, i blinked.

"Ohh come ooooon johanna (when he calls me johanna, its serious) Dont be a kid ok??"
"Well, im not doing it because i think its fun. Im just scared.
"Scared of what? Its not gonna hurt!!!"

Well, like i dont know that??

Mr and Mrs Nice

Boo:
I dont really like ....... Her face is annoying.
Fluffyboy: I know. Its like you just wanna punch her. She looks like a frog.
Boo: Exactly! Or like.... a scared rabbit. She reminds me of Daisy (my rabbit) when she was scared and her eyes almost popped out.

We are nice people. Its true!

You need to have some kind of opinion.

Fluff:
Man, she looks so weird.
Boo: I know. So ugly. She looks like a horse.
Fluff: Yeah. But he looks ugly too. What kind of haircut is that?
Boo: I know, he looks like a 70 yr old man.

Sarah Jessica parker and Matthew Broderick on the red carpet.

But her dress was nice!

Industrial country problems.

My tail bone is unnaturally big and hurts when i sit for too long.

My bone-balls on my feet are unnaturally big and are in the way sometimes.

Today i found out that i have conjunctivitis and sticky booger like-goo comes out of my eye.

I know. I'm a freak. Life's a bitch

Little Mercy

...is the name on my sponsored child.
She who lives in a 1 room shack in the Philippines and sleeps on concrete floor with her 2 siblings and parents.

I sent a package to her a month ago, with a dress, crayons, a san francisco frame, a san francisco postcard, a photo of us, and of course the letter.
Yesterday i called to see if they had any info if she recieved it, but the woman said, that it can take up to 3 months.
But when she get it, they will photograph her when she opens it, and send me the photos.
Ohhh, that will be so nice!! To see her reaction!

So the 20 bucks i pay every month for her, goes to the practical stuff. Like her healthcare, clean water, and school.
Then by Christmas, and birthdays, you can send extra money, that will go directly to her.
They sent me a letter with what they got for her.

For her birthday i january, they got her a white shirt, joggingpants, and underwear.
and for christmas She got grocery items, and the rare treat of choosing something from a retail store in a shopping mall.

this makes me so happy! It just makes me feel so good. This little poor girl, actually gets a little bit more of joy, because of me!!
This is probably how she lives.

I would love to go back to the philippines.
It was an amzing country, and the people there are just...something special.
They are truly happy, joyful, and always happy and smiling. LOVE kareoke.

Even the poor relatives of Rosemarie, who were living in shacks like these. With no floor- the floor was actually dirt, sand.
But they were so welcoming and invited us to eat there.
They always have food to share.
That makes me happy. That they are still enjoying life here. Still so full of life.

Quezon city, where Mercy lives

It makes me sad though, to see these famous people, or just rich people, wall steet business men. What are they doing with all their millions? And billions of money.
What the HECK are they doing, besides spending a ridiculous amount of money on a bottle of wine, 10 ferrarri cars, handbags for 50.000 dollars, diamond massages....
Heck, if you have the money to spend $500 on a purse, you can afford to sponsor a child, or do some kind of charity work.

One of these "luxuary treatments" tha i think is worst, is the Evian water bath.
For $5000, around 40.000 SKR, you take a bath in a bathtub filled with 1000 bottles of Evian water.
Yay. Isnt that great.

people are stupid. Honestly.

Around the world, people are dont have any fucking water to drink!!!
little children, tiny as skelettons, with big baloon tummys, are fucking dying on the deserts of Africa. because they dont have any water.
And here they are. The worlds biggiest idiots. Spending $5000 dollars on a freaking evian bath.
How can the LIVE with themselves?!? How can they??? They should just be ashamed!!

I spend no more than $25 bucks on a purse, and I CAN afford to help others.
I usually shop when its a sale, and goes to the cheepest store to buy my clothes. I and can still afford to help others.
I never buy shoes for more than $80, and i can still afford to help others.
Things are always tight in our budget. Just because of my situation in this country. But we STILL can afford, to help others.

Everyone, can do something.

And if these people, WASTING their money on Evian baths and other ridiculous luxuary stuff, if they Stopped and thought for a second. Those 1000 waterbottles could have saved the day for 1000 children.

Money, is power. And these people has the power to change the world.

He's just not that into you!!

Lately i've seen a bunch of great movies. I thought u might wanna see the trailers

He's just not that into you was a great movie! Its so true what they're saying in it!! Great cast, funny and just, cute!!

Marley and me.

Ahh...i loved this movie. Very long, but definatly worth seeing! If you love dogs. And trust me, if you dont love dogs, u will after this one!

Taken
ooooohhhh... strong, sad, depressing movie. But so good. This is going on, evey day, every where in the world. Ashamed to be a human species? Well, after this one you will.

Revoulutionary road

man, this movie was depressing. To see a marriage fail ust like that. The boring everyday life. To not be happy with what you've acomplished...
If u already are sceptic against marriage- do not see this :-)

New in town

Mjaa, it was okay. Not like i was laughing out loud, but it was an easygoing movie to see if you sont have any better movie :-)

Valkyrie
Wow. Claus Von stauffenberg is the new hero. honeslty. How come We've never heard of this brave man before?? Well, we all know how the movie ends right? But still, this was a very good, suspensful and exciting movie.

Happy Valentines day

Yesterday, it was valentines day. And in the morning at breakfast Hubby gave a beautiful bracelet.

The evening i showed off with my valentines dress, and yes. It was well recieved ;-)

David took me "blindfolded" to Piatti, an italian restaurant in Mill Valley.

I felt shy and silly, like we were on a romantic first date.
But im happy to still feel those butterflies.... I know they'll always stay in there :-)

Amazing starter- Tuna carpachio, and some kind of bread with fantastic warm goat cheese!!!
Main course was Kobe beef (they take amazing care of the cow since its born, gives it massages and everything, which is supposed to make the beef more tender) witht potatoes from the oven and brusselsprouts.
I had the scallops with some amazing mached potatoes and garlic vinagriette. (But u know, we always share our food hihi, half each)

Then it was the cheeses....MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.... indulge indulge.... we did order a chocolate raspberry ckae for dessert, but we had to take it to go because i was incredibly full.
We did also enjoy red wine of course, and some mojitos....

Now the indulgement did come with its price of course. But these occations, like valentines, anniversaries, birthdays... it doesnt happen that many times a year. And then we feel like we can spend some more. You need it.
Makes you feel good. And David sure has tought me what good food REALLY tastes like!

Honestly, if i would be rich, or just have a little bit of more money, i would definatly spend this amount of money and eat good food, with good products every week. Its soooooooooo worth it!!

Anyway, if you'll excuse me, Time for me to take care of my Husband, drink some sparkling champange and eat that chocolate cake!! Happy valentines day y'all!!

Kisses::: Sweedie D'amour

Well now its rainin'

Okay, NOW the rain season is here, for sure.
ITs been pouring down here the last couple of days. And next week doesnt look bright either. Euh, i cant take it anymore... how people survive in Europe 80% of the year- i do not know :-)

Its funny though. Today we were kinda happy because we had a reason to stay inside, snuggle, draw, and watch movies. We had to take advantage of this rainy day. Just like Europeians usually takes advantage of a sunny day.
Funny.

Dress-oholic

Valentines is coming up, and yesterday i went to downtown shopping for a new dress.
I thought i calculated enought time, but when time was 5.44 pm and my frenchclass started at 6pm, and i still had 7 dresses to try on, and not eaten dinner, i realized i hadn't

Man, Ross has lots of dresses. Cheap dresses. And they're all spread out. So u have to look though them, one by one.... its so messy in there. But i knew that Ross was my best bet for a dress.
I didnt just find one dress, in my hands i was holding about 50 of 'em.
Thats when i realized i had a problem.
Im a dress-0-holic.

Time was running out, my shoulders ached from holding my big bag with schoolbooks. My other arm was in paid from holding 50 dresses. My hair was messy and i was sweating. Tummy begged for food. But i needed to find it.

Well, i could have bought all 50 of 'em, but i ended up coming out with 3 dresses. That is good for being me. I have to contain myself. There are other garments needed to be bought.

I ended up being 5 minutes late for class. Thats okay. At least on saturday i'll make someone drewl ;-)

kisses::: Boo

I look like an idiot, but its morning and i have no makeup on ;-)

This one i got from my friends in SanFran (Steph, Alex and Karro) on my birthday last year, but i never had a chance to wear it yet. its from Hawaii!

Fans of the fan

So, i was upset in the other posting. i know. How silly of me. Not!!

Here comes some pics from the days when my uncle didnt have a stroke. Yeah, you know, the good golden days.

Party chez nous, Finally, we got to dance together again (its been like, 4 months!!! what are we like, 90 yrs?!?)

Is it very Swedish to bring your own alcohol? I mean, you never come empty handed to a party in Sweden. I feel cheap to ask people to bring their own alcohol here, but hey. Its expensive and cant possibly buy for everyone.... I dont want to spend 100 bucks just for everyone else to get drunk!
Hell nooo, thats peoples own problem :-)

Its the same thing when i get invited for a dinner at someones place- u bring a bottle of wine. As a thank you for the dinner you know. Well, thats just me.

Anyway, the saturday was fun.
Went to gravity first wheere jonas danced like he never danced before. He sure had his dancing shoes on.
Me and Caroline (nandas sister, shes is adoreable!!) was having fun with a fan in there. It was so cool with the wind in your hair! (then i came up with the awesome joke " We were huge fans of the fan" hihihi)

Then people wanted to go, so we headed to Circa, and left after 5 mins, then we went to comet club, and never even went inside cause it cost 2 bucks for gals and 5 for guys. So we ended up going back to Gravity.
But then we were kinda tired, so.... bottom line- we should have stayed there in the first place.

But it was a fun night!

Anyway. Photos. Here.

This one is just so awesome!! Love it!!

IMPEACH REINFELDT

Yess.

You might think that's a weird headline, but its true. Or, at least give him...i dont know...A STROKE??!

So, new info 'but my poor uncle. Its because of the stupid government (yes, that pervese-looking guy who actually governs sweden)
So, the new government wants to get eveyone out to work right? The people who are cheating the system etc.
Well, thats great, exept that they're also forcing actual sick people out to work. The insurance cashier (forsakringskassan) had been calling several times and try to puch my uncle out to work!!! He shouldnt be working since he has had problems with shoulders and knees for quite some time now.
Well. obviously That didnt matter. So they puched him so hard=he got so stressed. And here we are now. The result- a stroke.

Please people, dont let these idiots win the next election. They are ruining peoples lives. Vote RED in the next election. More people will get stressed-get strokes, and get their lives ruined.

Swedish people should be as ashamed as american people before Obama was sworn in.
They are finally happy, proud americans now. Will we be proud Swedes?

Next they'll probably call ma mama and force her to work.
Well, dont mess with my mama. Im telling ya that!
IT'LL BE WAAAAR

YUCK

I just found a fly, or some kind of insect in my soup. Is that normal? What should i do?
Call and complain? Sue 'em?
Phoebe Buffay got LOTS of money for that. But, she is just fictious of course.
Advise please?

(At least i should get those $2.50 i paid for the soup, i poured the rest out!)

Sick peoples

And it was monday again. New week, new strength.

Just found out that Uncle Christer had a stroke. Horrible. Sad.
Whats happening to my family? Mama had severe backproblems for years with operations etc, Tina had a brain tumour 2 yrs ago, Nisse died last year of parkinson, and now.....uncle Christer a stroke??
Not only that, its other things that are so god damn dramatic too, breakups and divorces here and there. This is exhausting! WTF!!

I feel so sorry for grandma....she needs to take it easy too! It must be so hard for her. Sick children. Always spending time at the hospital. Mommo is like the most healhty one of all almost. And she's the old one. Well, old doesnt necessarly mean that your'e weak right?
Mommo is so strong, so strong....

Anyway, my thoughts are with Uncle Christer, Aunti Ingela, and Cousin Nicklas... Hope everythings turn out good. Hugs of stenghth for u guys!

Kisses::: Boo

Pour some sugar on me

I cant get enouugh!!
Wohoo. Karaoke yesterday and me and Alex rocked the house, whilst singing that song!
I also sang Get together from madonna with Fernanda, and "I kissed a girl" by Katy Perry with Alex.
Me and Alex needs to come up with a stage name! We are mighty famous at La Barca by now. Any ideas? Blondie and Brownie? But i'm not really brown anymore.
Haha, i remember during my aupair year when we used to go to Grant and Green, with Emmelie, Wasup, and a german girl. We called ouselves, Christina and the Swedes. Sounds like a danceband to me :-)

Fluffy was at home drawing as usual.... i missed him...But he needs to draw when he finds the energy and will to do it!
Karaoke is our new Thursday tradition! I've been there every Thursday so far! Karaoke rocks dude!!

Me and Alex Rocking!

fog is back

Euh, the fog is back.
Just 30 mins ago it was sunny, but the fog moves fast....
They say it will rain. Good. We need it.
I read in Sonoma,(45 mins from here) 700.000 households need to start rationing water!! I'm tellin ya! California is in major trouble!

It all looks so nice on the outside, but Cali is supposed to be a desert.
Because of humans it looks pretty and green. But if it wasnt for us- it would be desert here. And now, we're running out of water. Yikes.

Well, im doing what i can.

Photoclass yesterday, go 96/100 on my first photo assignment- Twilight.
Yesterday it was critique for the second one- windowlight.
I took some of Fluffy, and they turned out mighty good! He sure looks like a model!

Mon beau mari!!

Le Pan

So was this weekend over. Fast as ususal. Didnt do that much, enjoyed the global warming hot weather. Cut my hair, ate ate and ate. Saw "New in town" with Renee Zellweiger, and ran in to another movie afterwards -"taken" with Liam Neeson.
Renee's movie was okej. Easygoing comedy. Liam's one, whoa. U left the theatre feeling mighty bad after. Its was about trafficing of women. Enough said. Horrible! But i recommend u to see that movie!

Also made a rather stupid thing i neded to tell you about. The importance of "Le" and "La" in french.
Annie- Davids mama called
-Johanna?
-OUI!!" my pitch was high. Damn it.
Then i tried to explain that David was out buying bread.
So how come that Annie thought David was buying a rabbit?
I'll explain
-"Il achete LA PAN" I said.

But thats where it all became so wrong. You see, La Pain is pronounced the same way as Lapin, wich means bunny.
What i should have said was Le Pain. LE PAIN!! Bread is masculine!! LE LE LE
She asked what colour it was. Noir...Brun....Blonde....?
Ehhh...colour of the bread, well, he usually buys baguette which is "blonde" So Blonde i said.

Anyway, Annie got very excited and started talking about Gaelles bunny Nelson, and that i needed to talk to her.
THATS when i suspected it. Thats when is tarted to rewind the whole conversation in my head. La Pan=Lapin, was it black, brown, blonde. It was blonde. Oh yes, of course!!!

Anyway. I tried to explain to Gaelle my mistake, but im not sure she understood me either :-)
I was just laughing all the time when i hung up. And then when my hubby came home, i had to explain to him, that his mama thought he has been out buying a rabbit. Hahaha....
Of course, he called her after breakfast and explained that wasnt the case :-)

Oh yes. The important of the Le and the La.

Kisses::: LA BOTCHOW
