I heard it again today


Those words that i have never heard before the last 3 months, but i heard a lot since then.

"Wow, you lost weight."

I'm so proud of myself. And i feel so much better inside. Lighter. Happier.

17Kgs
and counting. It took its time though. I'm counting from fall 2007 when i was obviously, at the peak of my weight.
I've been frustrated, annoyed and sad that it has taken so long to show results, but the clothes just got bigger and bigger, and when i weighted myself at mamas place mid-december. The scale showed 17Kgs less than that fall.
No weird diets, no diet pills that are so popular here in the US (i have been temted on the worst days though i must admit) No being obsessed by calories.
Now, i don't own a scale. I don't really care about the numbers.

I just for once want to feel lighter. Feel healthier. And try some sexy clothes on without the fat bubbling over :-)
I've been fine with it though. i never had a problem with my weight. And trust me, David has been more than fine with it too.
I never really let the fat get in the way of having tight clothes. i kinda thought it was cute. And that's why i never been to the gym before. That's why i never really cared.

But if there ever is a time in life to be slimmer. Its now, before you get a bun in the oven because then....it gets tricky with the loosin' :-)
So here's my "secret" But its not really a secret. Its just common sense really.
  • Be motivated. Even if you're big you might not be motivated. And without motivation. There is no hope.
  • Cut out bread. I don't know why really. But i definatly think it helped me. For a bread and sandwich lover like me, it was very dificult
  • Breakfast is important. Oatmeal and fruit. Or Kefir (fil) and fruit is my thing.
  • Let youself indulge sometimes. I Indulge on weekends. Those weekend breakfasts are full of bread, cheese, eggs and yummy stuff. We also eat out every weekend. Lots of calories. But who cares? its the weekend! You've gotta live!!
  • If you eat late at night. Like us (Usually dinner by 7-7.30) Try a hearty salad. Not a boring one, but with lots of stuff in it!
  • If you are a fast food eater- cut it out! I only eat pizza once a month, and trust me, that day i am in heaven! Its s feast! Fast food only if i'm "on the road"
  • Drink water. Coke has lots of unecessary calories, and diet coke is not good for ya either. Besides, food tastes better with water.
  • It's easy to have a sandwich for lunch, but what did i say? No bread! Try a salad, or soups!
  • Get a gym membership! I know, its kinda boring. Honestly, i hated the gym, and i've lost my interest now again. And you shouldnt force yourself to go, because then it gets even harder. But again, motivation! After that hour you feel so good!
    I run 30 mins, and do the thingy with the arms and legs (like skiing?) for 30 mins.
  • Also, don't be frustrated if you can't run for 30 mins in a row. In the beginning i got tired after 5 minutes or less!! Stamina is something you've gotta train yourself to get! Run 5 mins, walk 5 mins, run 5 mins...etc etc. After a couple of weeks you do 10 minutes, then 15 and so on.
These jeans used to be TIGHT!!




Now, all people do it differently. I'm sure i would have lost much more weight in half the time, if i had cut out on more things. And with a stricter diet. But my diet is not strict at all. I love food too much for that. I'm a very enjoyable person. I like to indulge and enjoy stuff. Sure, it takes its time, but you feel happier if you allow youself more. Wow, this got pretty long. But i hope you enjoyed it!

WOW vilken skillnad.. va duktig du varit! Jag vet också hur svårt det är.. man kämpar på och man blir så glad när de äntligen visar resultat och folk kan se de :)
